Bodegas Estraunza is an average sized familiy wine-making business that puts greater emphasis on traditional techniques rather than industrial ones. With a capacity for one million litres, it has production facilities equipped with 30 stainless steel tanks for controlled fermentation and a barrel cellar housing 1,500 oak barrels used for aging the wine.

The Winery started off with wines produced from the carbonic maceration of the Tempranillo grape. In Septembre of 1992 it presented its first Crianza: Solar de Estraunza, 1989 vintage. In 1995, it presented its first Reserva Solar de Estraunza, and in 1997, the first Gran Reserva Solar de Estraunza.
